The bottom line is that for the purposes of the DBA II skill set, the biggest difference between the Windows and Linux implementations of Oracle deals with file path construction; viz., Linux uses forward slash separators and Windows uses backslashes.
Another common question is, “How much of your demos deal with command-line versus GUI administration?” The answer to that is: 50/50. The reasons for showing you how to accomplish Oracle DBA tasks by using both the Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) GUI console as well as the SQL*Plus command-line client is two-fold:
